Before you apply
- 🇺🇦 If you are Ukrainian, you do NOT need any of this: EU temporary protection gives you the right to live and work in Lithuania with no visa or permit at all. That is far simpler than any nomad programme.
- Lithuania has NO digital nomad visa. A July 2026 review of the official migration materials found no standalone digital-nomad permit, and the self-employment route is limited to narrow categories (sportspeople, performers, accredited journalists, some researchers).
- The 'National Visa (D) — other lawful activity' route that some sites call a nomad visa is open to only SEVEN nationalities: Australia, Japan, the UK, the USA, Canada, New Zealand and South Korea. Ukraine is not among them. Income figures quoted for it (e.g. €5,460/month) are disputed.
- The Startup Visa is the genuine route for founders: no minimum income and no investment threshold — instead you must convince Enterprise Lithuania the business is innovative, then establish it within 120 days. It does lead to permanent residence and eventually citizenship.
- The ordinary business route is far heavier: a company running 6+ months, €28,000 of equity, and employing Lithuanian or EU staff.
- Tax: 15% flat on most personal income, rising to 20–32% at higher levels.
