Before you apply
- This is a SAVINGS test, not an income test: THB 500,000 must have been sitting in an account for at least 3 months. Sudden deposits are the single most common cause of rejection.
- It is NOT a 5-year stay. The visa is valid 5 years, but each entry gives 180 days (extendable once by 180). Then you must leave and re-enter.
- The in-country extension may now require funds in a THAI bank account, which DTV holders often cannot open. Do not count on it.
